A Spiritual Home for Ferozepur

By the blessings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, ISKCON has spread worldwide with temples, farms, and cultural centers dedicated to Lord Krishna. In Ferozepur, we are blessed to already have a running center where devotees gather for kirtans, satsangs, and prasadam.

Now, with the growing participation of the local community, we are beginning the construction of a permanent ISKCON temple in Ferozepur — a sacred place where generations to come can connect with Krishna, learn the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, and experience the joy of devotional service.

Building a Home for Krishna

The upcoming ISKCON Ferozepur temple will not only be a place of worship but also a center for education, culture, and service to humanity. It will include a beautiful sanctum for the Deities, a prasadam hall, and spaces for spiritual learning.

Srila Prabhupada often said: "When you build a temple for Krishna, you build your own path back to Him." Together, let us create a divine home for the Lord in Ferozepur.

The Spiritual Revolution

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada appeared in 1896 in Calcutta, India. He first met his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, in Calcutta in 1922.

In 1965, at the age of sixty-nine, Srila Prabhupada traveled to America aboard a cargo ship to fulfill his spiritual master's instruction to spread Krishna consciousness in the Western world.

With just forty rupees and a trunk of books, he established ISKCON in 1966 in New York City. Within eleven years, he circled the globe fourteen times, established 108 temples, and initiated thousands of disciples.

Prabhupada's Mission

"I have simply tried to present Bhagavad-gita as it is, without any alteration. This is the mission of my life."

Message from Temple Incharge

Praneshwar Das Goswami

Hare Krishna!

It is with immense joy and divine blessings that I welcome you to ISKCON Ferozepur - our spiritual oasis in the heart of Punjab. In this age of anxiety and confusion, the holy name of Krishna shines as the only source of pure happiness and eternal peace.

Our mission here is simple yet profound: to help every soul rediscover their eternal relationship with the Supreme Lord. Through the transcendental vibrations of hari-nama sankirtana and the timeless wisdom of Bhagavad-gita, we aim to create a sanctuary where hearts can heal and spirits can soar.

Come, join us in this divine journey. Let us chant together, learn together, and grow together in Krishna consciousness. Remember, as Srila Prabhupada said, "Life is meant for higher purposes, not just for eating, sleeping, mating, and defending."

Hare Krishna!

Your servant always,
H.G Praneshwar Das

Core Teachings

Essential wisdom from Vedic scriptures

Fundamental Principles

1. We are not these bodies

We are eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of God (Krishna). The body is temporary, but the soul is eternal.

2. Law of Karma

Every action has a reaction. We reap what we sow, in this life and the next.

3. Process of Bhakti Yoga

Devotional service to Lord Krishna is the highest perfection of life and the ultimate goal of human existence.

Key Philosophical Points

Purpose of Human Life

To reawaken our dormant love for God and return to our original spiritual home.

Nature of Reality

The material world is temporary and full of miseries, while the spiritual world is eternal and full of bliss.

Method of Liberation

Through chanting the Holy Names of Krishna and practicing devotional service under proper guidance.

"The soul is neither born, and nor does it die."

- Bhagavad Gita 2.20

"From attachment arises desire, from desire arises anger."

- Bhagavad Gita 2.62

"Whenever there is a decline in righteousness, I manifest myself."

- Bhagavad Gita 4.7

The Four Regulative Principles

Essential guidelines for spiritual progress

🚫

No Meat Eating

Vegetarianism promotes compassion and purity of consciousness. All living beings are souls, part of Krishna.

🚫

No Gambling

Gambling creates anxiety and destroys mental peace. It leads to cheating and develops greed.

🚫

No Intoxication

Avoid alcohol, drugs, and other intoxicants that cloud consciousness and hinder spiritual progress.

🚫

No Illicit Sex

Sex should be for procreation within marriage only. Illicit sex binds the soul to material existence.

The Positive Practice

Along with following these principles, devotees practice chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra:

हरे कृष्ण हरे कृष्ण कृष्ण कृष्ण हरे हरे
हरे राम हरे राम राम राम हरे हरे

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare
